WINTER 2010 NEWS

           I've finally transitioned to my indoor winter mode, and I'm painting some figurative pieces. Above is a painting of Sharon Littig that I'm just beginning - updates to follow. I've also got a back view nude in the works that will be posted soon. It's an homage of sorts to William Merritt Chase, featuring a Chinese screen, and antique kimono.

We had a beautiful snowfall just before Christmas and I had a good time painting in my yard. The light was crystal clear and the snow was vivid with all kinds of blue (image left).            Below are two photos from my recent weekend Portrait Painting Workshop, taught at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, in Annapolis, MD. The next workshop in on March 13 and 14.
